Published February 18, 1977
A 36-year-old steel worker, charged in the beating death of a companion, was expected to be returned to Texas from California today by Amarillo detectives.
Daniel Wisdom, 36, sought in a nationwide search for more than six months, was arrested last week in Yreka, Calif., during a routine traffic check. A warrant had been issued charging him with the murder of Terry Dean Hull, 29, of Amarillo, whose partially decomposed body was found July 26, 1976, in the 4700 block of NE 24th.
Amarillo police detectives travelled to California late last week to return him to the Texas Panhandle. Wisdom, officers said, waived extradition yesterday
Police said the search for Wisdom had ranged from Amarillo to Kansas to Louisiana to Minnesota. Officers said Wisdom is the last person Hull had been seen with.
Hull's body was found in a clump of weeds near the entrance of a container plant in Northeast Amarillo last summer by two employees who were investigating an offensive odor.
A 30-foot trail of dried blood led from the plant driveway to the patch of weeds.
Identification was made through a wallet found on the body.
An autopsy revealed that Hull had died of a massive head injury.
