Julian Moreno, 30, was shot dead February 24 while leaving Jesse's Pool Hall, 3411 W Amarillo Boulevard. Louis Fuentes Munoz and Roy Castillo, both 19, were arrested less than 48 hours after the murder. The two were charged with murder. Munoz's bond was set at $300,000 and Castillo's at $200,000

After being involved in a fight at a local pool hall parking lot, Castillo had his friend Luis Fuentes Munoz drive him to his home to get his guns. The guns were a pistol-grip shotgun and a 9mm pistol.

They returned with the firearms to the pool hall. When they pulled into the parking lot, the two men got out of the car and began shooting at a black car. Inside the car sat Ambrose Bustos, who was in the earlier fight, and Julian Moreno. Moreno was struck in the head by a bullet and died.

When Castillo found out about the death of Moreno, he threw the shotgun, pistol and its ammunition clip into T-Anchor Lake.

In his confession to police, appellant admitted firing his pistol at the car and throwing the weapons in the lake. The weapons were later recovered from the lake.
