Tessa ShyKaren Hamilton, 2%, died July 4. Tessa was taken to Northwest Texas Hospital on June 27 for injuries she suffered while James Scott Hervey, 44, was taking care of her. Tessa and her mother, Heidi Hamilton. had been staying at Hervey's home after Hamilton lost her job and apartment. Hervey was indicted by a Randall
County grand jury on a murder charge in connection with Tessa's death.
