July 17, 2022 - Early morning shooting

In the early morning hours of July 17, 2022 Amarillo police were called to a local hospital around 4:20 a.m. on a report of a shooting victim.[1]

The victim, identified as 31-year-old Javier Hernandez, later died at the hospital.

Officers learned from witnesses that the shooting happened near South Fairfield Street and Southeast 11th Avenue.

Hernandez had been in an argument with several other man and one of the men pulled out a gun and shot him.[2]

The suspect was identified as 21-year-old Oscar Adame. SWAT officers later found him at a home on Plaudit Trail in Potter County.[3]

He was arrested for a murder warrant and booked into the Potter County Detention Center.

October 7, 2024

On October 7, 2024 Adame pled guilty to murder and was sentenced to 16 years TDCJ
