2007-08-17 Lomeli

On August 17, police responded to a disturbance at Old Buster's Lounge.

When they arrived, they found two people in the parking lot with serious injuries. One victim, 54-year-old Henry Hernandez, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and died on the scene. Another man, Eulogio Garcia, was wounded but would later recover.

Witnesses told police that a fight broke out at the lounge, located at 2204 S.E. 27th Ave.. When the witnesses went to break up the fight, they saw 32 year-old Amador Lujan Lomeli produce a gun and shoot two to six times into the crowd. Hernandez was hit in the upper body and died.

Lomeli then went on the run, eluding authorities for months.

Police were able to track down the 1998 Cadillac Seville that Lomeli drove the night of the murder. The car was found at a vacant home in Richland Hills.^[1]

Lomeli was later shown to have fled Texas completely. Law enforcement received several tips leading them to believe he was in Mexico.

December 5, 2008 Fugitive Murder Suspect Returned From Mexico

On December 5, a special agent from the U.S. Department of State’s Diplomatic Security Service returned a murder suspect to the United States to face trial

Upon learning about Amador Lujan Lomeli and his flight from justice, officials with Diplomatic Security Services stationed in the U,S Consulate in Chihuahua gave Mexican authorities information as to his whereabouts.

Local authorities then raided Lomeli's house and took him into custody. DSS officials were able to get copies of Lomeli’s fingerprints and birth certificate to prove his American citizenship to Mexican authorities. Then they provided his arrest warrant and began coordinating his extradition to the United Sates.

A DSS special agent escorted Lomeli back to the United States on Friday before turning him over to the custody of U.S. Marshals.
