November 7, 2022 Possible Kidnapping:

Just before 9 a.m. Monday, Amarillo police officers were called to the area of Bell Street and Gainsborough Road.^[1]

Witnesses said a man forced a screaming female into a car. The car was described as a silver hyundai.

Police located the silver Hyundai and tried to make a traffic stop. The driver, identified as Joseph Tyler Putch, refused to stop and led police on a chase.

Police used spike strips to stop the car at Amarillo Blvd. and Rusk Street. The driver got out and ran, but was taken into custody just before 9:30 a.m.

Amarillo police found at least five guns, a sword and a machete in Putch's car

Joseph Tyler Putch, 29, is charged with aggravated kidnapping with bodily injury, evading arrest/detention with a vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful carrying of a weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia and two municipal warrants.

The victim was reported as safe by Amarillo police.

Putch already faced serious charges. According to court documents, Joseph Tyler Putch, 29, was in possession of photos that showed children under the age of 18 engaging in sexual conduct including "some as young as toddlers."

In February 2020, police got a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about potential child pornography being uploaded from a Google account.^[2]

Police said the Gmail address was tylerputchjoseph@gmail.com.

Putch was arrested in April 2020. According to police, Putch told them he had a new cell phone.

Police said they found child porn saved to the Google photos folder on the phone. The password for the folder was Putch's date of birth.
