Man arrested after Sunday shooting call leads to body found in Amarillo
Around 8:14 p.m. on Aug. 23, police were called to a reported shooting at an apartment complex near the 4200 block of Southwest 51st Street.
They were given a description of a shooting suspect while en route. And when they got to the complex, they 44-year-old Winton Wayne Dalton, who matched a description of the shooting suspect.
Police found that there were no injuries at the apartment complex but they did discover a body in the same area. The body of 28-year-old Thomas Bernard Grensberg was found at a home near the 5000 block of Southwest 57th Avenue.
Officers interviewed witnesses at both scenes and booked Dalton into Randall County Jail for two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.[1] After an investigation, police issued a warrant for Kyle Willis Bannister.

Later, on September 20, 2020, Dalton and Bannister were indicted for the death of Grensberg. Dalton was indicted for capital murder while Bannister was indicted on simple murder.
