Assault on David Glen Cates at Bosco's Lounge

David Glen Cates, 36 was taken to an Amarillo hospital on March 26. He was unconscious and unresponsive. He later died.
An autopsy showed that Cates died from blunt force trauma to the head.[1]
The day before his death, Cates was assaulted while at Bosco's Lounge in the 3900 block of West 6th Avenue.
With the death of cates, police considered it a homicide and began looking into identifying the person responsible.
June 28, 2010 Jeremy David Barrington indicted
Jeremy David Barrington was identified as the assailant of Cates and police presented a case to the Potter County grand jury.[2]
The grand jury voted to indict Barrington for criminally negligent homicide on June 28, 2010. The charge is a state jail felony, which carries a punishment range of up to 18 months in state jail.

Cates was taken to the hospital back in March unconscious. He never regained consciousness and died a few days later.
