Amarillo police make arrests in drive-by shooting that left 16-year-old hospitalized
Around 12:18 a.m. on August 11, 2021 officers were called to a drive-by shooting at the 2400 block of North Oak Street.[1]
Police arrived to find a 16-year-old male who was shot in the neck. He was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Later that day, detectives learned that the house and the victim were not the intended target of the shooting.
The 16-year-old was shot while in his bedroom playing a video game.
Using information from witnesses and video, officers and detectives were able to identify several people involved in the incident.
On August 12, 2021 Police arrested 17-year-old Eric Segovia and 17-year-old Mekhi Johnson on in connection with the shooting.
Both Segovia and Johnson were booked into the Potter County Detention Center.
