South Parker Street aggravated robbery

An aggravated robbery at a residence in the 4400 block of South Parker Street in south Amarillo, Texas, led Amarillo police to arrest four men on a single Friday in 2016. A victim visiting a friend at the home was held at gunpoint and robbed by two 17-year-olds; the investigation that followed also produced arrests of two other men present at or connected to the residence on unrelated charges.

The robbery

The incident occurred on a Friday at a residence in the 4400 block of South Parker Street. According to the Amarillo Police Department (APD), a victim had gone to the home to visit a friend, 20-year-old Jesse Albert Meyer. While inside the house, the victim was confronted by two 17-year-olds, Bol Marko Deng and Brendon Kavon Peoples.

APD officers said Deng and Peoples pulled a gun on the victim and took his belongings. The victim was able to leave the residence without injury and called police to report the crime.

Arrests

Officers who responded to the scene arrested both Deng and Peoples on charges of aggravated robbery.

During the course of the investigation, police found that Jesse Meyer — the resident the victim had originally come to visit — had six outstanding local municipal warrants through the City of Amarillo, and he was arrested as well.

Police also said 18-year-old Jared Wade Johnston was present in the residence and attempted to prevent officers from completing their investigation. He was arrested for interference with the duties of a public servant; police also reported that he was found in possession of marijuana.

All four men were booked into the Randall County Jail.
